Zhang Handong is a renowned Rust expert in China and a core advocate of the Rust Chinese community. With nearly 20 years of software development experience, he is one of the earliest Rust practitioners in China and one of the initiators of RustChinaConf. He is the author of the acclaimed book The Way of Rust Programming and has developed and taught multiple hands-on Rust courses. He has provided Rust project consulting and technical training services to leading companies including Huawei, ZTE, and Li Auto. He specializes in Rust systems programming and engineering implementation. Rust and the Dark Factory for Software

AI Coding is rapidly reducing the cost of producing software. As Agents become capable of continuously planning, coding, testing, and fixing issues, the real bottleneck in software engineering is shifting from “how to generate more code” to “how to constrain, verify, and validate machine-generated code.” Rust may not be the easiest language for AI to generate code in, but it may be one of the best systems languages for building reliable AI Coding loops. Ownership, the type system, Send/Sync, explicit unsafe boundaries, and standardized tooling such as Cargo, Clippy, and testing make many engineering constraints machine-readable and machine-verifiable.
